About

From “It’s Raining Men,” “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” and “Solid As A Rock” to “Bittersweet Symphony,” “Love’s Theme” and more- join legendary bandleader, and music icon, Paul Shaffer on the GLAZER HALL stage as he is joined by the Palm Beach Symphony and soulful and renowned powerhouse Valerie Simpson, from Ashford and Simpson fame, for an unforgettable symphonic experience. Under the dynamic baton of Maestro J. Ernest Green, their iconic songs and musical storytelling are elevated by lush orchestral arrangements and the drive of a stellar traveling rhythm section. Together, they create a night of groove, heart, and pure musical magic.

For 33 years Paul Shaffer served as David Letterman’s musical director and sidekick. From his stint on Saturday Night Live, to serving as musical director for the Blues Brothers – John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd – Paul Shaffer has done it all:  he recorded his own albums (Coast to Coast (1989) and The World’s Most Dangerous Party (1993),) and recorded with such diverse artists as Diana Ross, Yoko Ono and Robert Plant’s Honeydrippers, and more. He composed the LATE SHOW theme song and, with Paul Jabara, wrote the Number One ’80s dance hit “It’s Raining Men,” performed by the Weather Girls and re-recorded by Geri Halliwell for the “Bridget Jones’s Diary” soundtrack, topping the British pop charts in 2001. In 2002, he received his first GRAMMY, Best Country Instrumental, for the Earl Scruggs and Friends album, and co-produced an avant-garde jazz album for his mentor, Tsziji Munoz. His latest album, Paul Shaffer & The World’s Most Dangerous Band, was released on March 17, 2017 and features diverse guest vocalists such as Bill Murray, Darius Rucker, Jenny Lewis, Dion, Shaggy, and Valerie Simpson.  Singer/songwriter Valerie Simpson is a best known as one half of the legendary duo Ashford & Simpson with her late husband, Nickolas Ashford. They wrote numerous hit songs, including “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and “I’m Every Woman,” for artists like Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, and Aretha Franklin. The duo was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002.

Don’t miss this great night of music with two legends performing your favorite songs like you’ve never heard them before.
