One of Broadway’s most acclaimed leading men, Norm Lewis earned a devoted following for his powerful performances across musical theater, television and film and is an EMMY®, GRAMMY®, TONY®, and SAG Award® nominee.

Lewis made Broadway history in 2014 as the first African American actor to play the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. His impressive Broadway credits also include The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess, for which he received Tony, Drama Desk, Drama League and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations, as well as Sweeney Todd, Once on This Island, Les Misérables, Chicago, The Little Mermaid, Sondheim on Sondheim, The Wild Party, Side Show, Miss Saigon and The Who’s Tommy. He starred in London’s West End as Javert in Les Misérables and performed in the celebrated Les Misérables: The 25th Anniversary Concert.

On screen, Lewis has appeared in Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods, Pose, Scandal, Blue Bloods, The Blacklist, Gotham, Chicago Med, Mrs. America, Law & Order and Dr. Death.

He starred as Caiaphas in the award-winning NBC television special Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert! alongside John Legend, Sara Bareilles and Alice Cooper, and has appeared in PBS productions including Show Boat and Norm Lewis: Who Am I?

His recent stage appearances include the national tour of the Tony Award-winning A Soldier’s Play, the West End concert of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies, and acclaimed Off-Broadway productions of Ceremonies in Dark Old Men and Monte Cristo.
