GE Smith, Larry Campbell and Jim Weider bring decades of musical experience, legendary collaborations and a shared passion for American roots music to the stage at GLAZER HALL.
The evening features music inspired by such iconic artists as Roy Buchanan, Little Richard, Sam Cooke, Steve Winwood, Bo Diddley and The Rolling Stones. Joining these three masters are Lincoln Schleifer and Josh Dion, completing an extraordinary ensemble of musicians.
GE Smith is an EMMY® Award-winning guitarist and former musical director of Saturday Night Live, where he served from 1985 to 1995. Famously, he co-wrote “Waynes World” with Mike Myers which went multi-platinum. He has toured and recorded with Bob Dylan, Roger Waters and Hall & Oates, and worked with artists including Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy. Smith also served as musical director for Bob Dylan’s 30th Anniversary Concert at Madison Square Garden and has hosted PORTRAITS at Guild Hall in East Hampton, celebrating an eclectic range of musical artists.
Jim Weider is renowned for his signature Telecaster sound and blues-infused rock style. He served as lead guitarist for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Band from 1985 to 2000, touring internationally and recording with original members Levon Helm, Garth Hudson and Rick Danko. His extensive collaborations include Keith Richards, Taj Mahal, Mavis Staples and Los Lobos.
Three-time GRAMMY® Award-winning producer and multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell is celebrated for his work with Bob Dylan and the Levon Helm Band. A versatile musician who plays guitar, mandolin, fiddle, pedal steel and other string instruments, Campbell has also performed and recorded with artists including Paul Simon, Emmylou Harris, B.B. King and Rosanne Cash.
