Focus: Literacy Grades: Pre-K–3

Ballet Palm Beach’s Ballet by the Book program reinterprets children’s literature through dance performances that cultivate elementary school students’ love of reading and appreciation for dance. This literary program helps to cultivate a love of reading while developing an appreciation for dance. In addition to the performances, GLAZER HALL will work with funders to help purchase books for students corresponding to the chosen dance program, which they can read prior to seeing the show. Teachers are also encouraged to discuss the differences between the text and the performances with students.

The Laura Sachs Family Foundation Arts in Education Series at GLAZER HALL opens the doors of the performing arts to students of all backgrounds through a full roster of one-hour, curriculum-connected performances. We believe the arts are essential in fostering a lifelong love of learning—cultivating curiosity, enhancing critical thinking, and promoting adaptability. In collaboration with local educators, our programming is thoughtfully aligned with school curricula and reading lists, introducing students—many for the very first time—to a rich and diverse range of performing arts experiences.
