GLAZER HALL AND COX SCIENCE CENTER AND AQUARIUM PRESENT THE SCIENCE MOVIE MONDAY SERIES

Join us at GLAZER HALL for a screening of the 35th Anniversary of this iconic film- based on the events of the Apollo 13 lunar mission- which happened 55 years ago. Astronauts Jim Lovell (Tom Hanks), Fred Haise (Bill Paxton) and Jack Swigert (Kevin Bacon) find everything going according to plan after leaving Earth’s orbit when an oxygen tank explodes, and the scheduled moon landing is called off. Director Ron Howard emphasized scientific accuracy for Apollo 13 by going to great lengths to recreate realistic conditions, working with NASA to build the set and train the cast in astronaut and flight controller duties.
